My role has provided me with excellent opportunities to travel and to experience working abroad, highlights from the past few years include Spain, Portugal, South Africa, Namibia, Malawi and Mozambique – an ever expanding list!
I am a Manager in BearingPoint’s business strategy and transformation practice with a focus in Oil & Gas. During my four years at BearingPoint I have supported Oil & Gas clients with a wide range of projects from asset divestments to strategy planning. I am currently supporting a South African Oil & Gas company to implement a sales and operations planning methodology. A “normal” day could involve an early start to meeting with CFO and agree the direction of the project for the next weeks. I always find time in the morning to catch up on emails and make sure that everything is in order. The day will then usually be followed by a busy schedule of meetings, facilitating client workshops and training courses, preparing board packs etc. Sometimes I will even finish work at the client in South Africa and fly back to London for meetings the following day.
Outside the office
I have made a real effort over the last few years to make the most of the countries where my projects have been based. I have been to the Kruger park several times, driven across the desert in Namibia and have been diving in Lake Malawi – not to mention a few days relaxing by the hotel pool.
I have worked for several consulting companies in the past and what really stands out for me about BearingPoint are the people. From my very first day I felt part of the BearingPoint community, people here are always approachable and willing to share project experiences and support with the development of others.
